yesterday was a momentous day for my dearest husband, so i celebrated the only way i know how: being goofy and embracing the excitement i held within.
my husband fully embraces these episodes of hyper-activity and smiles lovingly at me (not sure how i ended up so lucky, honestly) until finally, just as a toddler would do, i wore myself out, ate, and found myself hardly able to keep my eyes open.
usually, my eyes droop and feel like there’s sand under the eyelids by this time, but as far as being ready for sleep? nope.
yesterday, though? absolutely. seeing as to how i’ve suffered from mild insomnia the past few months, i decided to take advantage of it and was asleep before midnight! when i woke up at 6am, i didn’t feel tired or groggy at all, so after laying there about 30 minutes, i panicked and hoped i hadn’t missed sunrise.
i hadn’t, but only just.
very pretty colors. this is from my front yard. i need a better place to view sunrise–you know, where i can see the actual sun rise? this’ll do though. it’s the first light of the day.
speaking of first light: i also started following photofriday.com and this was their challenge for the week as well! so i decided i would do it
next time, i will take my tripod out because this one isn’t as clear as i’d like at all, but it was my first time taking a sunrise photo (mostly i get sunset photos because i sleep through sunrise!) so i’ll take it.
how was your morning?
